Stitch a quilted patchwork pumpkin trivet in the hoop with this sweet machine embroidery design set  from Pickle Pie Designs. You get two versions in four sizes. Each trivet is stitched with insulated batting, and quilted in the hoop, then turned and pressed for a clean finished edge. They’re practical and pretty on your kitchen or autumn table, and they make lovely fall and Thanksgiving gifts.

Two Versions in One Design Set…

Version 1: 100% In the Hoop
Two diagonal strips of patchwork squares are pieced and quilted entirely in the hoop. Use ribbon for the stem loop to keep it fully ITH, or sew a quick fabric stem on your sewing machine.

Version 2: Sewing + In the Hoop
A full patchwork panel covers the right side of the pumpkin. You piece the panel on your sewing machine first, then the quilting and finishing are done in the hoop. This version includes a sewn fabric stem.

Fussy Cut Option
Cut your patchwork squares to the chart sizes, or fussy cut them so tiny motifs take center stage. for the Version 2 design (with the entire right side of the panel made with patchwork), we used Lori Holt’s 1.75" Cute Cuts square ruler.

For Version 2, you do need a sewing machine! Although this is an in-the-hoop design, you'll use your sewing machine to piece the patchwork fabrics.

Can I skip the fussy cutting?

Absolutely! Just cut your fabrics to the listed sizes and make a fun patchwork panel. You don't need special rulers.

Which embroidery machines are compatible?

Any embroidery machine that reads one of the included formats (ART, DST, EXP, JEF, HUS, PES, VIP, VP3), including Brother, Baby Lock, Bernina, Janome, Husqvarna Viking, Melco, Pfaff, Tajima, and other machines that support these file formats.
